Charles E. Lippincott, a Chandlerville, Illinois doctor, was captain and later colonel of the 33rd Illinois Infantry. He married Emily W. Chandler on December 25, 1851. In 1887 Lippincott was the first governor of the Soldiers' and Sailors' Home in Quincy, Illinois, where Emily was matron after his death.
